Where Are They Now? Bryan Krastins
Those lucky enough to have caught a glimpse of Bryan Krastins in a baseball uniform know how talented a player he truly is. He is also as elusive as Bigfoot or shirtsleeves on Chris Bettano. After an exhaustive 14-month search, which involved bloodhounds, Magnum P.I., and NASA technology, we have finally located him. According to this news article, he currently has his hands full of Filipino seamen (54 to be exact).
He was last seen at a Prohibition Pirates practice in late April of 2008. It was assumed he had vanished from the face of the Earth. But we have now learned that he has been supplementing his income by hijacking ships off the coast of Somalia. This would make sense as all attempts to contact him via phone or email went unanswered.
Over the past six months, Pirates have been filling newspapers regarding their thefts of cargo vessels and drunken escapades. Bryan’s most recent adventure netted him a Filipino shipping vessel. Unfortunately for Mr. Krastins, Philippine officials have publicly stated that they “neither pay ransom nor negotiate directly with kidnappers as a policy.” Unless BK and his Somali crew come up with some amazing new tactic, it looks like this ‘jacking will end with nothing to show for it except a sad, empty feeling — just like his many ex-girlfriends.
